A/W18 Raf Simons "Drugs" Yellow T-Shirt

Beautiful shirt from Raf Simons’ Autumn/Winter 2018 collection. I just love this season and all the different references Raf incorporated into it. This tee is especially interesting because it references “Drugs”, a play written by Cookie Mueller and Glenn O’Brien. Both were important figures of New York’s downtown counterculture. Mueller was an actress, writer and frequent John Waters collaborator, while O’Brien was a writer and cultural figure closely connected to the city’s art and music scene. The reference fits perfectly into AW18’s wider exploration of drugs, addiction, nightlife and youth culture. Such a cool shirt with a lot of history behind the graphic. Made in Italy.
